Positive crop marks of graves and settlements

Already at the beginning of the 1980s Otto Braasch had discovered a very exciting finding near Dornach (municipality of Aschheim, Upper Bavaria) and published a detailed infrared false colour image and a redrawing of the findings [1].

After the very dry spring of 2018, positive crop marks developed again in the wheat at this site at the beginning of June. The richness of detail of the pits, inhumations and house ground plans are in no way inferior to those on the Otto Braasch photograph. It is interesting to note that the features seem to have survived another 40 years of intensive agriculture undamaged under the very low humus layer in this region. This experience was also made on other monument sites in the Munich gravel plain.
